Sound is an essential component of how our environments are shaped and perceived; it is constantly surrounding us yet often goes unnoticed. Despite sound being affiliated with instruments or voices, it is misunderstood, and it is frequently overlooked that every material object possesses an acoustic dimension.
This project explored the fabrication of noise, which comes from a physical interaction with the immaterial world. For that reason, a couple partners and I designed a nightstand purely made of components found in acoustic instruments.
